Just when we thought our group of Office Assistants couldn’t get any more AMAZING, Gabby said, “Hold my drink,” and in about five seconds flat, proved us all wrong.
Seriously.
She’s kind of the shit.

1. Tell us about yourself!
Hi! My name is Gabby. I’m 23 and a Portland native. I have two dogs, a 13-year-old Pug and a 2-year-old Rat Terrier. I love baking, fashion, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. I graduated from Portland State University in June with a degree in Communications and Marketing. Most recently, I traveled to Paris with my mom and absolutely fell in love with it for a second time. If I could, I would travel the world for six months and see different cultures, places, and cuisines. From that you may be able to tell, I love food and live in the perfect city for it. Lastly, but maybe most importantly, I’m a Scorpio.

2. What is your go-to way to pass a snow day?
Movie marathon! I'm not a huge fan of the cold so I love staying in, watching all my favorite movies and cooking some comfort food to pass the day. On occasion, you'll find me outside playing in the snow with my dogs but never for more than 30 minutes; otherwise, I'm simply too cold. I may have been born and raised in the PNW, but I prefer sunny and warm weather at all times of the year!

3. What sparked your interest in working for Ginger & Maude?
I’ve been getting my hair done here for almost 6 years now and have always loved the atmosphere. When I saw the job opening, I knew it would be a great fit, and it has truly been the best working experience I could have asked for. Other than the familiarity of getting my hair done here and knowing the quality of service offered, I love how empowering and supportive the environment is.

4. What do you think is the most underrated, yet important part of customer service?
Being able to see it from both sides. Customer service is admittedly not the easiest job. I've worked in many industries doing customer service and it can be tricky, but I have found that looking at it from the other side allows me to find solutions I may have not thought of otherwise. I also find this allows for a connection and understanding between me and the client so we can find a solution that works for everyone. At the end of the day, mutual understanding and flexibility are both vital to customer service and have allowed me to be successful in keeping clients happy!

5. What Front Desk service options does Ginger & Maude offer that people sometimes don’t know about, but clients tell you they love?
The Silent Service. We can easily add a note to your booking that says you prefer a Silent Service. Don't fear, our stylists never find it rude if you choose to have one. We all understand how hectic life can be and how nice it is to get pampered for an hour or two and take a moment to yourself. Simply ask us to request a Silent Service and we’ll ensure it’s in your booking notes.

6. Fill in the blank: "It would make clients' lives easier to know the front desk can help them ______________."
Find the right appointment for them. We have a lot of services so it can be overwhelming sometimes. Go ahead and give us a call and we can help you navigate how to book the right appointment for what you’re looking for. Frequently, if you’re looking for a drastic change we will have you book a 15-minute, free consultation which allows a stylist to sit down with you and really discuss what you’re looking for, so we can ensure when your appointment happens there’s plenty of time to receive the service you want. 

7. What has you most excited in life right now?
The new year! I'm not a huge believer in “new year, new me” but I do think it offers a fresh start and an opportunity to work on new things. I also happen to have a trip to Mexico coming up which helps with some excitement for the new year. I haven't been since I was a baby so I'm excited to go see such a beautiful place and get some sun while I’m there, as well as some amazing food!
