We all know how revealing the “If you were stranded on an island and could only take three items” question can be. But we like to play our own version here at Ginger. We asked our curl style master, Stephanie, to let us in on her FAVORITE curly hair products. So, we asked: If you could recommend the best Kevin Murphy products to support bouncy, healthy, happy curls at home, what would they be? Here’s what she had to say:
1. Restore. It is a Co-wash (conditioning cleanser) that is great to refresh the curls without re-washing with a traditional shampoo. It uses alpha hydroxy acids to make your scalp feel clean without stripping the oils. Scrub at the scalp (I mean REALLY SCRUB) and leave on for 5-7 mins, then rinse out. No additional conditioner necessary! Available at the salon.
2. Motion Lotion. It’s lightweight curl cream for people that hate the feel of the product in their hair but want added moisture to keep their curls happy. Normally I use it on damp hair, you can twirl it into the hair or layer it with a gel or mousse for a softer finish. It can also be used on dry hair to define curls.
3. Killer Waves. A volumizer and texture spray in one. It helps define curls while being weightless. For someone who wants a “gritty” and moisturizing combo, I would reach for this when your hair is damp before setting your curls. It does its best job on fine wavy and curly hair.
