Some stuff is just timeless, you know? Legend has it, Odysseus anointed himself with Immortelle oil in Corsica before fighting in battles; even then, it was known to be an all-purpose anti-aging, healing elixir. And, as it turns out, Immortelle Essential Oil an ingredient in Kevin Murphy Smooth.Again, one of our favorite products here at the salon. Made from the Helichrysum (strawflower) plant, Immortelle is a star ingredient in this awesome leave-in treatment, which does loads of wonderful things for your hair – especially if it’s thick, curly, and frizzy.
 

Here’s why we love it:

  1. It encourages new cell growth, i.e. hair growth. Immortelle really is the fountain of youth, y’all. It’s been described by First-century Roman naturalist Pliny the Elder and has been used ever since to heal wounds of all types — and all wound-healing boils down to, really, is new cell growth.

  2. No need to blowdry! Many hair products need heat to work properly; Smooth.Again does not. It’s independent and badass like that. Other products become sticky and gummy in the hair, while this stuff still allows for a soft finish without heat.

  3. It’s not greasy. Our clients love that it does what it’s supposed to do without putting a heavy coat on their hair. Like the very best of lovers (sometimes), it disappears like it was never there.

What exactly is in there, besides the Shiny Greek Warrior Oil we mentioned earlier? Baobab Tree Oil, for the vast array of vitamins it contains, including A, E, and D, plus moisturizing properties to aid in elasticity and tone. Orchid Extract, which is rich in proteins and reinforces hair, building strength and moisturizing to prevent breakage and loss. Green Tea Leaf Extract, which has loads of antioxidants to fight damage from free radicals. Lotus Flower Extract, an incredibly effective emollient that leaves your hair baby soft, refining the texture every time you use Smooth.Again. Cupuaçu Seed Butter, to replenish much-needed moisture.

We’d heartily recommend Smooth.Again to clients with hair on the thicker side, who want to soften up or define their curls, stop frizz in its tracks, or smooth hair during a blowout.

So what do you do with it? Simply apply it from roots to ends on towel-dried hair. One pump will do — you don’t want to use too much, and a little goes a long way. Blow-dry or air-dry, and go fight a bunch of shady Trojans or whatever. They know what they did.
